December walk in a Christmasy London

Although a bit cold, it has so far been a fairly dry autumn. What is better than to take a walk in the Christmasy capital on a Saturday. We started out in Borough Market where we had some food and looked at all the fruits, vegetables, meat and fish for sale. It's an amazing place - probably one of my favourites in London.

Then on to St Paul's Cathedral. Here a self portrait.

From St Paul's we went on to Trafalgar Square. Here a young lady resting between the paws of one of the lions.

There is a big blue rooster on Trafalgar Square. The ultramarine bird, the "Hahn/Cock" by Katharina Fritch, is meant to symbolise make-dominated Britain. It's 4.7 metres and will be there for 18 months.

Right next to Trafalgar Square, on the way to the Mall outside the British Council's HQ, we found a horse. The white horse, which is built by Turner Prize-wining artist Mark Wallinger, is life-sized and with it he hopes to raise interest for his 50m tall horse dubbed the "Angel of the South" that he hopes to erect in Ebbsfleet Kent.

One way street.
